Application 03 · Industrial
Many manufacturing processes use electrical current to deposit, remove, or protect metal, and where that current flows determines the quality of the result. Uneven fields overplate edges, starve recesses, and drive scrap and rework. The precision field-shaping technology behind our medical platform brings the same control to manufacturing: it programs, shapes, and adapts the electrical field for each job, optimizing it for uneven or complex part geometries.
Why it matters: an electrical field customized for each part, more uniform deposits, less wasted metal and rework, and changeover between part designs by reprogramming instead of retooling.
Current crowds at edges and corners, overplating them while recesses stay thin. A programmable field can be tuned to each part to even out deposit thickness.
Copper fills fine trenches, vias, and through-holes. Uneven current across a wafer or panel leaves some areas overplated and others thin, costing yield. A controlled field evens out deposit thickness across the whole surface.
Current, not a cutting tool, removes the metal. Concentrating the field where material should come off shapes hard alloys with no tool wear.
Smoothing and deburring follow the current. A targeted field finishes selected surfaces without masks or extra fixtures.
Protective layers must build evenly over complex shapes, including recessed areas that fixed electrodes struggle to reach.
Adaptive current distribution keeps protection even across pipelines, hulls, and structures at risk of corrosion.
